As a major highlight of Qualcomm's booth this year, the AI applications of edge-side agents were fully displayed. For instance, viewers can experience the cutting-edge functions of the smart body brought by the collaboration between Qualcomm and Honor. On Honor terminals, they can replicate their favorite color atmosphere with just one sentence. In addition, Mianbi Intelligence has also collaborated with Qualcomm to implement the new generation of GUI Agent agent technology based on the MiniCPM-4V multimodal large model on terminals equipped with the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra mobile platform.
Meng Pu once said in a forum that with the development of AI, smart glasses, smart watches, wireless headphones and other devices are no longer just accessories of smart phones, but "personal AI terminals" that can independently provide AI experiences. At the Qualcomm booth, AI glasses from brands such as Xiaomi, Rokid, and letV, leveraging Qualcomm's technology, showcased applications beyond screen interaction to the audience, including video calls, real-time translation, and health assistants.
In the field of the Internet of Things, applications such as the UTree humanoid robot and terminal retail, empowered by the new brand "Qualcomm Leap Dragon" released in February this year, have demonstrated the innovative power brought by technologies like AI, and also reflected the prospects of "AI+ connection" in empowering various industries.
From these cutting-edge technologies and products that have been showcased, it can be seen that AI is driving all industries towards a new stage of intelligence and digitalization, especially the AI on the terminal side is also moving towards large-scale application.
With the evolution of AI applications, AI models are also showing a trend of hybridization: large and small models work together, and cloud-edge collaborative deployment has become the key to the implementation of AI. This means that the integration of AI and connection is the key to the large-scale implementation of AI applications.
Over the past few years, 5G has become an important connection capability, promoting the scenario-based and large-scale application of cutting-edge technologies such as AI. 2025 marks the first year of 6G standardization. Meng Pu mentioned in his speech at the forum that 6G is far more than just an upgrade of communication technology. It is a collaborative technological innovation platform that integrates advanced functions such as AI and integrated communication and sensing, and serves as the core technical foundation connecting the cloud and the edge. It is precisely for this reason that 6G will provide artificial intelligence with a broader application space, stronger computing power connection support, and lower latency guarantee, thus achieving "intelligent computing with context-aware capabilities being ubiquitous". Qualcomm has long initiated 6G research and development and is actively preparing for future deployment. It is expected that as early as 2028, we will witness the debut of 6G pre-commercial terminals.
As a technology provider, Qualcomm has successively launched the "5G Leading Program" and the "5G Internet of Things Innovation Program" in the past few years. Based on this, Qualcomm officially launched the "AI Acceleration Program" in September this year. This program aims to work with Chinese ecosystem partners to introduce the AI experience of intelligent agents to smartphones and various terminals, empower new AI functions, and deeply cooperate with AI model providers and developers to jointly explore more application scenarios and promote the large-scale implementation of AI on the terminal side.
