The China International Import Expo is a major decision and action made by China to promote a new round of high-level opening up to the outside world. It is an important window to showcase the achievements of global economic and trade development and a key platform to connect the Chinese market with the world and share development opportunities. Since its first holding in 2018, the China International Import Expo has become a landmark project for China to build a new development pattern and promote high-quality development, demonstrating China's firm determination and sincerity to expand opening up and create and share the future with other countries.
As a "full-attendance student" of the China International Import Expo, Hyundai Motor has actively participated for eight consecutive years, fully demonstrating its high regard and long-term commitment to the Chinese market. Over the past 23 years since entering China, the 15 affiliated companies of Hyundai Motor Group have established a total of 63 corporate legal entities in China, covering core business sectors of the automotive industry such as complete vehicles, parts, steel, construction, finance and logistics. This series of solid investments and layouts not only promoted the improvement and upgrading of China's automotive industry chain, but also demonstrated Hyundai Motor's firm confidence in taking root in China and growing together with the Chinese market.
In the wave of embracing the new round of automotive industry transformation, China is leading the direction of new energy and intelligent transformation with the posture of the world's largest new energy vehicle market and the most dynamic innovation test field. With the in-depth advancement of the "dual carbon" goals and the acceleration of technological upgrades across the entire industrial chain, China's automotive industry has entered a new stage of development driven by user scenarios and featuring multiple technological routes in parallel. Hyundai Motor has a deep understanding of this trend. At the upcoming 8th China International Import Expo, it will create immersive experience Spaces around the three core areas of "electrification, hydrogen energy and flagship imported vehicles", systematically showcasing its forward-looking layout and technological strength as one of the top three global sales enterprises.
At present, the Chinese electric vehicle market has fully shifted from "policy-driven" to "market-driven", and users have put forward higher requirements for the performance experience, intelligence level and quality standards of products. Relying on its global modular electric platform (E-GMP), Hyundai Motor has launched high-performance electric models IONIQ 5N (Eniq 5N) and the first pure electric SUV EO(Yiou) of a joint venture brand, directly addressing the core demands of Chinese users. This not only reflects Hyundai Motor's global accumulation in the field of electric technology, but also demonstrates its commitment to China as an innovation source and its implementation of the strategic direction of "In China, for China, to the world". Meanwhile, Beijing Hyundai will continue to deepen its "localized R&D + global quality" strategy. The "Smart Start 2030" plan aims to launch 20 new products in the next five years, including 13 new energy vehicle models, to achieve comprehensive leadership in new energy.
In the hydrogen energy sector, Hyundai Motor participates in China's energy transition with a full-ecosystem layout. Under the macro strategy of the green transformation of the energy structure, China is actively building a hydrogen energy industrial system covering "production - storage - transportation - application", and commercial vehicles and special-purpose vehicles have become the key scenarios for the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cells. Relying on its hydrogen energy research and development accumulation that began in 1998, Hyundai Motor, with "HTWO Guangzhou" as its base, is promoting the localization of the entire chain from R&D, production to multi-scenario demonstration operations. From the hydrogen fuel cell SUV NEXO to the logistics and sanitation vehicles that have been put into demonstration operation in Guangzhou, Hyundai Motor has not only demonstrated its technological advantages in fuel cells, but also deeply participated in the construction of the regional hydrogen energy ecosystem in China through the large-scale application of vehicles, providing a replicable business model for the realization of a "hydrogen energy society".
In terms of electrified products, as a key move in Hyundai Motor's electrification strategy, Beijing Hyundai's first pure electric SUV based on the global electric modular platform (E-GMP) - EO(Yiou) - will make its debut at the China International Import Expo. EO (Yiou) not only sets the tone for Hyundai Motor's product matrix of "building trust through quality and competitiveness through value", but also becomes the "preferred choice for high-quality pure electric SUVs under 150,000 yuan", and has also opened a new chapter in Beijing Hyundai's new energy journey. As the starting point of Beijing Hyundai's entry into the new energy era, Beijing Hyundai has positioned the EO Yiou as a "new quality and power pure electric SUV". Its development follows the core path of "global quality + Chinese technology", continuing global quality standards and optimizing locally in combination with the usage scenarios of Chinese users. Based on this car-making concept, EO Yiou offers users six quality dimensions: "safety, driving and riding, technology, durability, intelligence, and life empowerment", covering all details throughout the entire vehicle usage cycle. This enables 150,000-yuan pure electric SUVs to no longer be limited to "basic commuting", but to bring Chinese consumers a "high-quality" pure electric option. This model features a CLTC range of over 700 kilometers, 800V high-voltage fast charging and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip as its core highlights, marking Hyundai Motor's entry into a stage of in-depth localization in China's electrification market. Visitors can experience this strategic model on the spot and feel its product strength.
Meanwhile, at this year's China International Import Expo, Hyundai Motor will also showcase two globally limited edition flagship products of its high-performance N brand. One is the IONIQ 5N (Eniq 5N), jointly developed with "Drifting King" Keiichi Tsuchiya and equipped with DK limited Edition high-performance kits, and the other is the Elantra N TCR Edition, which was launched at the end of September.
Meanwhile, the newly upgraded hydrogen fuel cell system on display at this exhibition has achieved a comprehensive improvement in power output, low-temperature adaptability and hydrogen storage capacity, demonstrating Hyundai's continuous leadership in the field of hydrogen energy technology. The Hyundai XCIENT hydrogen fuel cell tractor, which made its debut on the same stage, is equipped with the hydrogen fuel cell system of Hyundai HTWO. The vehicle's matching is more reliable, with a rated power of 200kw, a system efficiency of 63.4%, and a large-capacity hydrogen storage cylinder. It truly achieves zero exhaust emissions and provides a green and efficient solution for long-distance trunk logistics. It also demonstrates Hyundai Motor's determination and ability to build a complete hydrogen energy industry chain ecosystem in China.
Not only that, the new generation of the imported flagship SUV Palisade will also be on display at the same stage. It is equipped with the new generation 2.5T hybrid system independently developed by Hyundai Motor. This advanced system, featuring a "P1+P2" dual-motor parallel structure, achieves a perfect balance between power and efficiency, delivering a combined maximum output power of 334 horsepower, a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.97 liters per 100 kilometers, and a combined driving range of over 1,000 kilometers. Meanwhile, its brand-new design language, high-quality interior and multiple intelligent comfort configurations will offer users who pursue a high-quality life a brand-new luxury travel option.
Against the backdrop of the APEC meeting injecting new impetus into regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, as an important participant in China-South Korea economic and trade cooperation, Hyundai Motor will continue to deepen its strategic partnership with the Chinese market by taking the practical action of participating in the China International Import Expo for the eighth time. This year's China International Import Expo is not only a stage for Hyundai Motor to showcase its full range of technological strength, but also an important window for it to implement its strategy of "In China, for China, to the World".
